| THE SOUTH TRANSEPT HAS SEVERAL OLD PHOTOGRAPHS AND MEMENTOS of early St Augustine's including a small window from the Old Maori Church which stood near Point Bush. This church was built by the Maori, near their Pa which was established in 1853. The church was built by the Maori in 1864 by Joint contributions of the "natives" and a grant of £50 from the Government. By 1880 it was deserted and had become Tapu. It was moved to the grounds of the old vicarage in Augustine Street. It was used as a study and Sunday School Room. It was moved next door and is currently part of the kitchen in No 18 Augustine Street. The piece of Stone from the Bell Harry Tower at Canterbury Cathedral in England was given to St. Augustine's by the Cathedral to commemorate our Centenary in 1972. |

| THE SOUTH WINDOW 1895 is of the Transfiguration of Christ with Moses and Elijah on either side and Peter and James hiding their faces from the blaze of light and John, gazing on the scene. - in memory of James William Moorhouse, brother of the Moorhouse who was Superintendent of Canterbury and of James' wife Anne Emily who was a sister of Mrs Michael Studholme. It was given by their daughter Rose Rhodes. |
| THE CHOIR STALLS that originally had a further two rows of seats in front, we see the organ which has been described as an exceptionally fine instrument, a miniature Rolls Royce of an organ". It was built in May 1928 when it was decided to purchase a suitable organ after this chancel was built. In Oct 1927 it was ordered from Hill Norman and Beard of London the same firm who built and installed new organs in St. Mary's Merivale and St. Barnabas Fendalton. Since its installation it has had several stops added in memory of various parishioners with the final two stops to complete the organ in the 1980's |
